Collection Information: | No special patient preparation is required. Obtain specimen by standard collection procedures. Do not collect in serum separator tubes. | ||
Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. | ||
Reference Clients: | If unable to deliver to the lab within 1 hour, store and transport at 2-8° C. Specimen is stable as long as it remains tightly capped. | ||
Causes for Rejection: | Improperly labeled, incorrect container, contaminated, insufficient quantity, incorrect transport. | ||

Additional Information: | Do not open tube to remove serum/plasma. Removal of the top can lead to artificially lowered results. Test includes ethanol, acetone, isopropanol, methanol, and ethylene glycol. |
